Bird Imprint

For whatever reason, a bird flew down on the fluffy snow and left its imprint.

I love the feather wisps.

Survivor

Last night, just as the day was slipping away in to darkness,
a big buck wandered through the yard.

This guy has been crafty enough to survive hunting season.
Good for him.

Needle Felting

I am trying a new craft, needle felting.
Its fascinating that you can take a ball of fluffy wool and turn it into anything you can imagine.

Just using a special barbed needle & repeatedly poking the wool,
you can shape & sculpt it.
I started out small and made a few hearts for Valentines.

Then progressed into animals.

Meanwhile, Tilly was content to keep the rolls of wool company in their bag.

And Simba wasn't the least bit impressed with his woolly likeness.

Big & Little

A fox squirrel & a red squirrel at the feeder.

Many think the red squirrel is a "baby" squirrel, but he's fully grown & quite speedy!

Pileated Woodpecker

These large crow-sized woodpeckers look like Woody the Woodpecker.
This is a male pileated woodpecker, showing his red whiskers.

Narrows Covered Bridge

The Narrows covered bridge is on the east edge of Turkey Run state Park.

A pretty bridge in any season.

Red Headed Woodpecker

We saw this fellow at the feeding station at Turkey Run State Park.

What a handsome guy.
