Guess Who's Coming To Town?

I attended the local Christmas parade.

Every American parade begins with the color guard.

 The Grinch showed up

 And a pony club

The local karate kids were there with their mascot

And the girl scouts had a float

Mrs. Claus was there to assure Santa was dressed properly

The festive spirit was everywhere

All because this guy was coming to town!

Every winter we install a few game cameras on the ranch.
Here's what we've found so far.

Me & my neighbor hiking

 Deer playing

Startled coyote

Nice buck

 Racoon

 Curious doe

Hoarder

l
The little red squirrel is taking winter seriously.
He's stockpiling walnuts in a dead tree.

And at the base of his home tree.

Finding Garfield

The grandkids are on Fall break, so we did a little day trip exploring the Garfield trail.

Garfield's cartoonist creator is Jim Davis,
a native Hoosier from Fairmount, Indiana.

Scattered all over Grant county are eleven life-size Garfields.

The kids enjoyed finding Garfield, on a train...

At a hospital, posing as Dr. Garfield...

 Dressed as a firefighter...

And as a fisherman.

One of our favorites was outside a renowned ice cream shop, Ivanhoes,
where we stopped for lunch.

And we found one dressed as a cool cat in the hometown of James Dean.
We enjoyed being tourists in our own state!

Fall Fun

Grandpa & I took the grandkids to a nearby apple orchard & pumpkin patch.

Of course, being in Indiana, there was a corn maze.

Using the tower in the center of the maze, we spotted the boys, Grandpa & Ryan.
They beat us out, by the way.

There was also a giant tube slide that resembled a caterpillar rising 25 feet in the air.

There were lots of fun activities with a hayride, pedal tractors & this barrel train.

 Of course there were apples.

And fresh cider donuts!

And all kinds of pumpkins.
I love autumn in Indiana!
