Big Brown Caterpillar

This big brown caterpillar was found by my oldest granddaughter.

We figured out it is the larva of a Eumorpha pnadorus moth.

Sleeping Bear Dunes

Have you heard of this place?

Its a world of tall sand dunes & great lakes.

 These dunes are huge.

And don't be mislead by them.

They are strenuous to climb.

Don't miss the beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan.

A national seashore worth visiting.

Fredrick Meijer Gardens

We visited the Meijer Gardens near Grand Rapids, Michigan.

 One of the highlights of the gardens is this 30 foot tall horse, 

one of the reasons I wanted to visit.

But there are lots of sculptures, both realistic & modernistic.

There's a re-created farmhouse with many barnyard statues scattered nearby.

And near the farmhouse  is a walkway along a lake with turtles, ducks & swans.

There is also a Japanese garden.

 There are even sculptures in the parking lots!
Its worth a visit.
