These Canadian geese are checking out the creek for a possible place to raise a family.
I'm blogging about my home, a Midwest farm in Indiana and my travels, hiking & horseback riding, wherever that may take me. Visit often to get your outdoor "fix"! Whether it be from the back of a horse, in hiking boots, or in muck boots, I promise to share a little of Mother Nature with you as often as I can! All pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Snorkeling in the Virgin Islands
Virgin Islands National Park is known for its snorkeling & scuba diving.
The park didn't disappoint!
A school of blue tangs
A stoplight parrotfish
Some sergeant major fish hiding in the coral
A porcupine fish
A smooth trunkfish
And this thrilling creature, a spotted eagle ray floating gently underneath me!

Off to the Carribbean
In our quest to see all 59 national parks,
we picked Virgin Islands National Park for January.
Good idea, huh?
This is Trunk Bay in the park, listed on many sites
as one of the top ten beaches in the world.
The visitor center.
The park takes up about 2/3 of the island of St. John.
You can camp in the park,
but since its only accessible by ferry, you may want to try glamping,
so you don't have to lug all your stuff along!
In addition to all the water activities you can do here,
you can also visit the old sugar mill ruins.
There are many hikes too.
You might see some giant termite nests in the mangroves.
But the beach is what this park is all about!
What a fun place to visit in winter!
