The fox squirrels are scurrying about gathering walnuts for winter.
I'm blogging about my home, a Midwest farm in Indiana and my travels, hiking & horseback riding, wherever that may take me. Visit often to get your outdoor "fix"! Whether it be from the back of a horse, in hiking boots, or in muck boots, I promise to share a little of Mother Nature with you as often as I can! All pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them.

October Trail Ride
The weather was fine and the leaves were beautiful.
Time for a leisurely trail ride.
Rocky likes trail riding too.
Happy trail riders.

Red Tailed Hawk
A red tailed hawk caught a rabbit and
was enjoying his meal down by the barn.
Not often do I get to see one this close.

Horse Play Day
We cowgirls got together & had a horsey play day.
Horses, being prey animals are very wary of new situations.
We showed our horses lots of unusual things,
trying to build their confidence.
The horse learns to trust his riders judgement.
Ben shows confidence going through a fluttering cowboy curtain.
Rocky handled something rattling and chasing him with cool self assurance.
Bear drags a tarp completely undaunted.
Squeezing between tight spaces can be uncomfortable for a horse.
Spice handled it just fine.
This hula hoop had beads inside that rattled, scaring Willy.
These pool noodles brushing against Rocky didn't fluster him.
Happy riders with calm trusting horses.
"I am a brave fearless horse!"
