Plant Gall

On my morning walk, I found this plant gall.
Galls are abnormal vegetative growths that is usually formed as a response
by plants to fungus, mites or insects.

I can't tell by the leaf, but I think this is an oak apple gall caused by a wasp.
Almost half of all the known galls occur on oak trees.
