Cruising Glacier Bay

This is Lamplugh Glacier in Glacier Bay.
The glaciers are dirty from picking up rocks & sediment on their way down the mountain.

Margerie Glacier with a boat in front to show the size.

The snow & ice falling from the glacier is called calving.
Calving starts with loud pops as the ice cracks and then thunderous sounds as the ice falls into the sea.

Panorama of the Margerie Glacier on the left and the Grand Pacific Glacier on the right.
Grand Pacific Glacier is very dirty.
