Phase 2 of Winter Storm

We dodged a bullet.

We received about 3" of compacted sleet & ice.

Luckily, most precipitation fell as sleet
so it didn't coat the trees & wires too badly.

Mostly small branches & limbs fell.
Nature's way of pruning the dead & weakened ones.

Everything is glistening and pretty,

but treacherous.
The ice/sleet layer supports your weight and is as slick as glass.
I had to slide down to the barn on my rear to tend the horses.

However, in the woods, shards of fallen ice have frozen on the surface,
allowing for some traction.

And now its snowing.
But we are warm, and dry
and thankful!
