Visiting Vevay

Today we visited the Swiss Wine Festival in Vevay, Indiana.
Its a quaint festival located right along the mighty Ohio River.

These towers along the river's edge
mark the water level during the flood of 1937.

The festival celebrates the area's wineries and Swiss culture.
My granddaughter & I were able to check out the grape stomp,
but were too late to compete in the competition.

The festival also featured lots of entertainment,
such as a parade, well known country singers, a magician,
 these ZuZu Acrobats from Africa,

and even an exotic animal act featuring big cats.

Of course being in wine country we visited a few wineries,
including this one located in beautiful Madison Indiana.

Madison is just a short drive down the river from Vevay.
It has a lovely riverwalk park,
as well as many historic buildings and a thriving downtown.
We decided we need to return for a longer visit sometime.

After a fun day, we headed home,
but not before stopping for supper in Greensburg Indiana
where a tree grows 110 feet above the streets on the courthouse tower.
