Yep. You read that right. Free chocolate!
Richmond also has a chocolate trail.
So, in addition to finding fairy dwellings, we enjoyed some delicious chocolate too.
Perfect for mom & grandma.
Just pick up a chocolate passport at the Old National Road Welcome Center
and present it at each stop for a chocolate treat.
Your treats include a brownie, a scoop of chocolate ice cream,
a brownie scented candle, chocolate jelly beans, a chocolate donut, a cookie or even chocolate wine.
And there are several handmade chocolate treats,
such as this artisan chocolate bunny that looked too good to eat.
Almost...
Richmond surprised us with its lovely murals on many of the downtown buildings.
The furniture store in an old downtown building had toy trains on the third floor,
including this train the kids could ride on.
And we found other treasures there too, such as this castle made of coins,
a huge 14 foot bunny, and a knight in shining armor.
In addition, the kids got to ride an old freight elevator and watch the floors go by as we rode up!
Nothing escapes Heidi, who found this secret compartment in a brick wall.
It contained a note with good tidings inside.
The Two Sisters bookstore had a clever mystery section
as well as a Harry Potter room and comfy reading area.
We enjoyed lunch inside a double decker bus inside the pizza parlor!
Richmond was a fun time!
