Natchez Trace

We took a little jaunt on the Natchez Trace,
which was a historic trail from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez Mississippi.

Once used by Indians & pioneers for trade, its now 444 mile National Parkway.

A well known landmark along the Trace is the Natchez Trace bridge,
an award winning cathedral arch bridge in Tennessee.

There are several ancient Indian mounds along the parkway.

Meriwether Lewis is buried in Tennessee along the Trace.

And you can still hike some sections of the original trace pathway,
taking a walk back in time.

You can explore a cypress swamp

And visit a historic stand, which offered shelter to those walking the trial years gone by.

The Natchez trace is a beautiful and historic tour of the past.
