Nature Themed Christmas Tree

I suppose its not surprising that we have a nature themed Christmas tree.
I've had fun over the years collecting the ornaments.
I found most of the native mammals...

And native birds.

A few of the creepy crawlies were included.

And added some sparkle with a few glass icicles.....
And here's the finished project.

The Iceman Comes.....

Saturday, ice forming around stationary objects.

Sunday, large patches of ice appear in deeper areas.

Monday, freezing everywhere but near the current.

Tuesday, mostly frozen.

Already thick enough to support Bo, (he hopes)!

A few areas of rapids are still forming ice.

Beautiful ice crystals.

Baby Its Cold Outside!

4° yesterday morning in the barn and 7° this morning.
I decided to blanket the boys since the wind chill was even lower.
They look like gaily wrapped Christmas gifts in the pasture.

Jasper, the youngster, loves the snow.

Rocky doesn't seem to to notice the frigid temps.

Tag has seen a lot of winters and conserves energy by basking in the sunshine.

Picture in a Picture

I snapped this image this morning and thought I saw something in the viewfinder.
Can you spot it?

This lovely doe was crossing the creek just as I snapped the photo.

Snow Day!

I arrived home from the sunshine state just in time for our first snowstorm of the season.
I had to get out in the winter wonderland.

The snowy trail invited me to explore.

As I trudged along, the squeak-scrunching of my footsteps filled the air.

Everything else is muffled by the fluffy white stuff.

Down by the creek, the water was rippling through the snow covered rocks.

The air was crisp & cold.

It was a beautiful homecoming.

Hey lady, can you spare a crumb?!?

If these guys don't look like typical Hoosier birds to you, you're right.
I took a spontaneous trip to Florida to join my hubby on a business trip.
These egrets were begging from us at Disney World's Epcot Center.
