Bloom where you are planted

Technically, I live in the suburbs.
Yep, I'm only 20 miles from a major metropolitan city.
How can that be?
How can all that nature stuff be right outside your door, you ask?
Here's one reason why...

And here's the other reason....

A creek and those dreaded powerlines.

Many people don't want to be near powerlines, but nature often is.
A red tailed hawk often perches on the towers looking for a meal.

Deer and other animals use the powerline easement as a corridor for travel.

Many of my neighbors are displaced country folk, forced to work in the city.
But they've found an oasis in suburbia.
One neighbor has a tree farm.

And a small hunting cabin.
l

Many have horses.

The powerline easement is a nice place to ride, if you have permission.
 l

Other neighbors raise cattle.

Or  just use the land for recreation.

Paradise in surburbia!
Who'd have thought?
