Fort Clinch - A look into the Past

Fort Clinch lies at the northern tip of Amelia Island
guarding the mouth of the St. Mary's  River
where it flows into the Cumberland Sound.
It is now a state park.

The fort was built in 1847.

The fort was used by both the north & south during the Civil War,
during the Spanish American War and World War II.
