Water is Life

Another reason we have an abundance of wildlife is the creek.

Water is life.

Our spring fed creek flows all year providing water and diverse vegetation for the wildlife.

The area along streams & rivers is called a riparian zone.

Riparian zones help with erosion control.
Native plants send roots deep into the soil to prevent it from crumbling and washing away.

The riparian vegetation helps filter the water.

 

But it is also a flood plain.

So it is always changing.
