Hive Inspection

We inspected our hives tonight.
Its been 10 days since we moved in our 2 purchases nucs
and 13 days since we installed the swarm in a hive.

Upon opening the swarm hive,
we found burr comb on the inner cover and between 2 of the frames.
In our attempt to not harm the bees,
we neglected to push those 2 frames together and
the bees filled in the space with honeycomb.
We did not see any brood on that hive
and might possibly have a virgin queen which hasn't mated.
It can take 20 -25 days to find evidence of egg laying
 from swarms with virgin queens,
so we aren't concerned yet.
We need to remove the burr comb however,
hopefully before brood is laid in it.

Both of the purchased nucs are farther along
and had lots of capped brood, eggs,  larvae and pollen in the cells.

The bees are busy!
So far, neither of us has been stung.

We scraped off the burr comb from the cover and it was loaded with
HONEY!
We got our first taste of honey!
