Up a Tree

I'm dogsitting my granddogs this week.
Not seeing much wildlife with 3 dogs on my morning hike,
however they did scare this guy up a tree.

Spider Webs

The first one down the trail in the morning gets these things in their face!
Sometimes the early bird gets the spider!

Fireworks

Happy Birthday America, Small Town Style

The nearby small town of Cicero had a 4th of July parade today.
This is what rural America is all about!

Color guard leading off

Its not a parade without fire trucks!

Especially the old ones.

Hamilton county has a piece of the World Trade Center
to be used in a firefighter's memorial, which was reverently observed.

And let's not forget our veterans, who fought for our freedom.

The mascot from the nearby Pork Festival was here.

Red, white & blue were prominent colors

Local folks were invited to enter their favorite parade vehicles,
such as this dragster.

And these antique cars.

The local high school band performed.

There were youngsters

And young at heart.

Even Santa was here chillin' on summer vacation!

Of course, we had horses

And tractors.

And a good time was had by all!

Deer Shots

The deer are being seen again after hiding with their fawns.

Nursing moms have to keep their weight up.

Taking a break away from the kid.

Better go see what he's up to.

Up and over.

Fungus Among Us

We are back at the ranch after a trip to the Northeast.
Looks like we had lots of rain and now have high humidity.
Perfect weather for fungus.
Here's the ones I saw on this morning's walk.
