Mogollon Rim

The Mogollon Rim is called Arizona's mighty backbone.
The Rim is a long cliff separating two level areas of different elevations.
Most of the land south of the rim is at 4000 to 5000 feet above sea level while the rim is at 7000 feet.

The Rim in the distance.

We eagerly drove to the top of the rim only to find.....
 this.
Contrary to the park ranger's advice, the road along the rim was still closed.

So we drove back down, stopping at Tonto Creek and the fish hatchery on our way.

This bird curiously checked me out as I walked along the creek.

Oak leaves had recently fallen on the snow.

And jumbo rainbow trout were in this pond at the Tonto Creek Fish Hatchery.
